My work is cyclical. I enjoy the summer when I can wander around Cambridge seeking out forgotten corners or soaking up inspiration in busy streets, or painting the peaceful hideaways and wild areas of Yorkshire. I usually work in bright watercolours, sometimes with pastel. In the autumn I never tire of capturing the glorious colours of slowly dying leaves, and in winter I am attracted to flowers, particularly when they become ‘overblown’. For 20 years I owned Business Arts and the Conservatory Gallery in Cambridge, but now instead am a member of several local painting groups (Cambridge Drawing Society, Society of East Anglian Watercolourists and Cambridge District Art Circle) and exhibit with them all round the area.
